Friday the 13th: The Series

Characters

Ryan Dallion (John D. LeMay)

Ryan Dallion is one of the main characters. Together with Micki, he inherited the store "Vendredi's Antiques" from Micki's dead uncle Lewis. But unlike Micki, he wanted to run the store - because he liked the things they found in it. Ryan's father was an inventor, the relationship between them wasn't very good. His father killed himself with a cursed pipe from Lewis' store - after trying to kill Micki with it. Ryan had a younger brother named Jimmy, who died when Ryan was 10, shortly after that, his mother ran out on them. It seems, that Ryan somehow is a big boy, he collects comics, he wears shorts and T-shirts, there is no episode where he didn't get his nose punched by someone. Besides that, he is posessed by witches, nearly killed by a vampire, chased by a werewolf, Ryan left the show at the beginning of the 3rd season, when he was reduced to a 10 year old boy by a cursed object. He went away with his mother, who returned just before.

Micki Foster (Robey)

Micki Foster is the other main character. She is a niece of Lewis Vendredi. Along with Ryan, she inherited the antique store from her uncle Lewis. Micki was against keeping the store. She wanted to sell it out as quick as possible, then get back to New York, to her fiance Lloyd. Micki's parent's are both alive. Micki started to be a bit of a snob, but later on became more responsible and self confident. Micki was killed once by a cursed coin and brought back to life by Ryan and Jack, who tricked a coven to use the coin again on her.

Jack Marshak (Christopher Wiggins)

Jack Marshak is an old friend of Lewis'. He is a former magician, and an expert in the ways of the occult. He used to supply antiques for Lewis' store and first encountered Ryan and Micki when he sneaked around Vendredi's Antiques in order to find out what had happened to Lewis - who owed him the money for his latest deliveries. He found out that Lewis was dead, and informed Micki and Ryan of the deal between Lewis and the devil - and of the real meaning of their inheritance. Jack's father was a sailor, he died on board a ship and came back one day as a spirit to pay an old debt. Jack was married once and had a son, Peter, who posessed great spiritual powers but not enough control of them - he died in the dream plane of a young girl he tried to free from her posession. Jack brings in a mystical element to the show, he knows about the occult world, and in several episodes he has to deal with it (i.e. when he enteres the underworld through a mirror in order to rescue Ryan and Micki and seal the gates of hell Lewis had opened before..). One can't help but think that WITHOUT Jack, Ryan and Micki would have been defeated by the dark forces sooner or later.

(Uncle) Lewis Vendredi (R.G.Armstrong)

Lewis Vendredi made a deal with the devil. He would sell cursed antiques and receive enormous wealth and eternal life (though not eternal youth, as he found out ), but oneday he broke the pact by sealing the antiques in his "curse-proof" vault in the basement, as a result the devil came for him. The Antique store went into probate - and Micki and Ryan inherited it. Several times during the show, Lewis tries either to come to live again, or to bring the devil to earth, each time with a little more force and devilish tricks. Lewis was married once to a woman who couldn't stand his coldheartedness.

Johnny Ventura (Steven Monarque)

Johnny Ventura replaced Ryan as the leading male role in the third season. His first apperiance on the show was near the end of the second season in the episode "Wedding Bell Blues". Johnny's father was a security guard, who got killed by a criminal using a cursed leather jacket that made him invisible. Johnny was so bereaved that he used the same cursed coin that had killed Micki to resurrect his father from the dead - but his father wasn't the same anymore... Unfortunately, the character of Johnny couldn't be established as a satisfying replace for Ryan, the fans didn't accept him. The third season of Friday the 13th -The Series was the last one. In 1990, Paramount cancelled the show.
